Semi-Truck Fire Shuts Down I-40 Westbound Near I-44

The westbound lanes of Interstate 40, I-44 and Meridian, is shut down due to a semi-truck fire, early Monday morning.

A News9 crew on the scene said the truck was engulfed in flames, with westbound traffic at a complete stop. As of 7:30 a.m. traffic in the westbound lane was still down to one lane. Eastbound traffic was not affected.

No one was injured in  the crash. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Multiple fire and police units responded to the scene. no word yet on how long traffic is expected to be delayed ion the area.
