An arrest has been made in connection to a shoplifting case we first told you about on Monday. We published cell phone video of the suspected thief that was captured by an alert citizen in a Coweta Walmart store.

According to a probable cause affidavit released on Thursday, ex-convict Kenneth Glen Pack, 34, was arrested on Monday about 4:30 p.m. An investigating officer said he was informed about the video’s existence about 2 p.m. on Monday and the man on screen had been identified as Pack.

The person who recorded the video said it showed a man who allegedly packed up a shopping cart with items and darted out of the store to a waiting sport utility vehicle. The shopper said he was waiting for his fiancée to check out when he saw someone run out to the parking lot. He reportedly followed the man and began narrating the video.

After a warrants check came back showing Pack was wanted for other crimes, the officer said he tracked him down in the Roland Park area getting into a Lincoln Aviator, so he initiated a traffic stop.

The officer wrote in the affidavit that Pack exited the vehicle and began resisting arrest, so he took him to the ground to handcuff him.

Pack was arrested on outstanding warrants and a resisting arrest complaint. He was charged late Wednesday with petty theft.

He currently is serving a suspended sentence in Wagoner County for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

Pack was last released from prison in March 2014.
