Police are looking for a man who carjacked two different people in east Tulsa Friday morning.
Officers say the man stole an older model Honda Accord at gunpoint outside the Walmart at Admiral and Memorial at about 4 a.m. then abandoned it when it caught fire a short time later.
Police believe that man then took a pickup truck at gunpoint at the QuikTrip at 31st and Mingo about an hour later.
A customer leaving the Walmart store told police he was getting into his car when a man pointed a handgun at him and demanded his car.
A few minutes later, firefighters were sent to a car on fire at Highway 169 at the Broken Arrow Expressway.
Witnesses told police the man who'd been driving the Honda got out and ran away. Police searched for the man but K9 officers lost his scent at a nearby creek. Officers said the victim was shaken up but not injured.
At the QuikTrip police said a man armed with a gun and matching the description from the first incident approached the driver of a red Chevy Avalanche and took the vehicle.
Police are still looking for that vehicle. The victim was not injured.
Police say the carjacker is Asian or Hispanic, 5’10” and weighing about 160 pounds.
