Tulsans Start Celebrating City's Oldest Ethnic Festival

Tulsa's oldest ethnic festival is celebrating its 54th year. The Tulsa Greek Festival opened Thursday morning, and offers everything from authentic meals to ethnic dancing, and even shopping.

The festival is a fun way to learn about the roles Greek religion and tradition play in our culture.

Festival spokesman, Demetrius Bereolos said, “The Greeks in our parish and our friends invite you into our house and treat you like you were our guest. So, you get some food, you get to come dance with us, have a little opah, have some beverages. You can hear the music and just have a great time.”

The festival runs through Saturday night at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, which is about three blocks west of 11th and Denver.
