Billed as Oklahoma's largest and grooviest pet adoption event, Woofstock will take place Saturday, September 20, 2014.
The 9th annual Woofstock will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Riverwalk Crossing in Jenks.
It's coordinated by The Oklahoma Alliance for Animals and will feature dozens of animal welfare organizations and shelters in northeast Oklahoma.
“If you're considering adding a pet to your family, now is the perfect time,” says Jamee Suarez-Howard, president of Oklahoma Alliance for Animals, said in a news release. “Whether you're looking for a specific breed or that one of a kind mutt, Woofstock is a ‘one stop shop' for finding the perfect pet."
All pets adopted at the event will receive free microchips, ID tags, wellness exams and photos.
Woofstock will begin with the Million Mutt March, a fundraiser to fight animal cruelty.
There will be contests for best pet/owner lookalike, grooviest costume and cutest puppy.
Organizers invite pet owners to bring their animals and enjoy a day in the park. Pet-related vendors will be there, so will food trucks.
