Green Country Snow Beats Falling Autumn Leaves As It Blankets Ground
For most drivers in the metro area, it was just a nuisance-type snow with only a dusting of accumulation. Taking it slow was the way to go, but heavier bursts were enough to cause a few wrecks.

Meteorologist Mike Grogan got out of the building Sunday morning for a first-hand look at the area roads.
Even before the leaves have finished falling this season, snowflakes were falling across Green Country, coating it with a blanket of white.
While the storm hit on a Sunday with less traffic on area roads, it was enough to cause some issues for drivers around Tulsa.
Just after 9 a.m., the first snowflakes of the season began to fly around Tulsa.
Temperatures dipped into the 20s, and it didn't take long for snow to stick to roadways, even with ground temperatures in the 40s.
For most drivers in the metro area, it was just a nuisance-type snow with only a dusting of accumulation. Taking it slow was the way to go. However, a few heavier bursts of snow were enough to cause a flurry of wrecks throughout the city by late morning.
Starting with the bridges and ramps, wet pavement turned slushy sending some cars into highway barriers. Tulsa-area Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers worked 12 crashes since 6 a.m. Seven of the crashes occurred in Tulsa County. Three of those crashes occurred after 2 p.m.
One driver lost control, sending a vehicle careening into the Mingo Creek near 36th Street South. Through 3 p.m., EMSA responded to 28 wrecks in the city with no serious injuries reported.
Up to 3 inches of snow fell north of town, but not enough to cause any power outages in the region.
It was the first measurable November snowfall in eight years, which is an unusual sight this early in the season.
But even the deer weren't all that bothered by the winter wonderland. Overall, it was a mild-mannered visit from Old Man Winter, but a foretaste of the season to come.
