Fatal Kay County Car Crash

Emergency crews responded to a fatal accident on US 60 at S. Street in Kay County early Saturday morning.

Authorities said the incident occurred a little after 5:00 a.m., when a vehicle driven by Alexander Bailey, 21, of Arkansas City, Kansas, failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling northbound on S. Street.

A vehicle driven by Timothy Rutledge, 41, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, collided into the passenger side of Bailey's car.

Bailey was taken to a local hospital in fair condition, but his passenger 21-year-old Bridgette Coleman, of Ponca City, died from her injuries sustained in the collision.

Rutledge was treated and released.
