Authorities say a man driving under the influence of alcohol crossed into oncoming traffic, causing a head-on crash that killed a Chouteau woman. The deadly wreck took place around 11:15 p.m. on State Highway 20 near Pryor.

Kendra Lee Gonzalez, 20, died at the scene of the Mayes County wreck. Troopers say her 2009 Chevrolet caught fire after the crash.

Troopers say 31-year-old Derlin Lara was westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway when he hit Gonzalez's car.

The Tulsa man was taken to the hospital where he is said to be stable with leg and arm injuries.

Amanda L. Scott of Pryor was a passenger in Gonzalez's Chevrolet. She was taken by medical helicopter to a Tulsa hospital. She is said to be stable with leg, arm and other injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts; Scott was not, according to a collision report. Troopers say Lara was impaired by drinking alcohol.
