Many homes were damaged in Wagoner County from a tornado Saturday night. Emergency Management Director Health Underwood says they have at least 70 homes with damage, both major and minor. It's an early estimate, and they believe numbers will increase as they assess each neighborhood.
Underwood said it looks like the tornado touched down at 209th East Avenue and 111th Street South and went northeast all the way to the Verdigris River at 51st Street.
Homeowners in "The Crossing" housing development had significant damage to fences, roof shingles, garage doors, mailboxes and siding.
The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office says a block of homes were evacuated after the storm blew through because of a natural gas leak.
