Folks gathered at Guthrie Green in downtown Tulsa Monday to audition for the final season of American Idol.
People began lining up overnight.
This is the first time the show has stopped in Tulsa for auditions and only the second time in Oklahoma.
The producers of American Idol say Oklahoma has always been a good stop for them. They found Carrie Underwood in Oklahoma, who is probably the show's most successful contestant.
People have come from across the state and even out of state to audition.
I talked with one man who started waiting in line Sunday night for his chance to shine.
"I got here last night at 10," said Josh Woods.
Woods was preparing to face a panel of judges for the fourth time. In 2012, Josh made it though the first four rounds of competition. This time, he's looking to go even further.
"This is the biggest dream I've ever had have," said Josh Woods.
He's singing an original song.
Josh was one of hundreds who showed up to the Guthrie Green Monday to audition for American Idol's last season.
Another person waiting in line was Dakyra Bass.
"It's been pretty fun watching people sing and prepare for whats to come," said Dakyra Bass. "I have sung the last couple months the same songs over and over to try and get them down to perfection so I can move on through the rounds."
All are hoping to move to the second of three rounds, before they can head to Hollywood.
"I'll be doing a jazz cover and I'll be doing a cover of all about that bass," said Kristin and Candace Chambers.
For many, the Tulsa audition was their last chance at making a dream of a lifetime come true.
