Man Found Unconscious In McAlester Hotel Pool Dies At Hospital

Police say a man died after being found unconscious floating in a hotel swimming pool on Thursday.

Sgt. Chris Morris told the McAlester News-Capital, 49-year-old Phillip Nickerson was found in the pool at a Best Western Inn on George Nigh Expressway and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
   
Morris said Nickerson was originally from Krebs, but it wasn't clear where he was currently living and if he was a registered guest of the hotel.

The body has been sent to the state Medical Examiner's Office in Tulsa to determine the cause of death.
