An Oklahoma City musician who was at the OSU homecoming parade has struggled with grief since the deadly crash.
James Price said experiencing the tragedy made him question some things and he wanted to do something to help, so he wrote a tribute song called "There is a Light."
Writing has been a healing process for Price since October 24.
“It was a scary and sobering event,” Price explained.
Price and several of his family members were at the corner of Main and Hall of Fame. Just before the crash, Price stepped away to get coffee while his nephew and parents sat in the street where the car ended up.
“Minutes before the crash occurred, my nephew looked back at my mom and said, 'Nana, I think I want to move back',” Price recalled.

They moved off the street and behind the traffic light pole, which may have saved their lives. Price cannot stop wondering why he and his loved ones were spared while others died that day.
“I wanted to do something, but what is there to do, what can you say to encourage anybody,” Price said. “When words fail, music speaks,” he added.
There Is A Light is a tribute song to raise money for families of victims.
“This is the world we live in, though it's broken, we can rise together,” Price told News 9.
The OSU graduate is a musician at Stillwater Life Church. He originally wrote the song for his family then decided to share it publicly.
“I hope that it helps healing,” Price said. “I hope that in spite of not having answers, it helps give hope,” he added.
Stillwater Life Church held six services the day after the deadly crash.
For now, people can download the song here. You can donate to download through the "tip" function for as little or as much as you feel moved to give. All proceeds go to the #StillwaterStrong Fund at the Stillwater Medical Center Foundation. Once the song is available on iTunes and other platforms, we will post the link.
