A man is in critical condition after getting hit twice on Memorial Thanksgiving evening.
It happened around 9:45 p.m. on 17th Street. A preliminary investigation shows the man was crossing Memorial when he was hit by a northbound vehicle.
The crash knocked him into the southbound lanes, where he was hit a second time and pinned by the vehicle.
Firefighters and bystanders were able to free him.
The drivers were neither cited nor arrested.
Friends say 20-year-old James Taylor was acting as a Good Samaritan, crossing the street to help someone with a flat tire when he was hit. The man is in a coma and also is engaged to be married in June, friends say.
