Driver Eluding Police Crashes Into Tulsa East Central Building

An overnight police chase ended with a bad crash overnight Sunday. Tulsa police say the driver is lucky to be alive.

Just before 1 a.m., an officer tried to pull over the driver for not stopping at a stop sign near 11th and Garnett. Instead of stopping, the man drove off - leading police on a chase through a neighborhood.

He eventually jumped a curb, crashed through a fence and into a concession stand at East Central High School.

Police say the driver then ran away on foot. A passenger was taken to a hospital and is expected to be ok.
