Bomb Squad Responds To Explosion In Tulsa

The Tulsa Police Department's bomb squad is responding to an explosion.

It happened at an apartment building at 1st and Peoria at just before 4:00 Monday afternoon.

Firefighters say a pile of trash next to the building exploded. They're trying to determine why.

There are no reports of any injuries. Crews on scene said the debris flew out of the windows of the building and into nearby trees.

Police said the building used to be an apartment but has been vacant for a while. Neighbors said it sounded like dynamite going off.

Police are still investigating.
