Crews are working to get a handle on a commercial fire on the far west side of the metro, Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the scene in the 10700 block of NW 2nd St., in between the Kilpatrick Turnpike and N. Sara Rd., just north of I-40, around 12:30 p.m. The company is identified as REDBACK Energy LLC.
REDBACK Energy is an oilfield services company.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. News 9 is told all of the employees safely made it out of the building.
The presence of volatile materials, as well as two semis loaded with diesel fuel, in the business has kept firefighters in a defensive position in dealing with the blaze.
Authorities reported having a knockdown on the fire just after 1 p.m. Upwards of 50 firefighters, as well as fire academy trainees, responded to the scene.
