The Tulsa Library is starting a pilot project to check out wireless hotspots. Several library locations and the Bookmobile will have the devices for customers to check out, a news release states.
A wireless hotspot device allows users to connect devices like laptops, smartphones and tablets to the Internet.
The new service starts with 50 wireless hot spots for check out at Martin Regional, Rudisill Regional, Suburban Acres and the Bookmobile. You can check them out for up to 30 days with no holds or renewals.
If you don't bring them back, a fine of $1 a day will apply (maximum of $10), and the device will be disabled on the third day it's overdue.
You must be 16 or older to check them out, and there's a $50 replacement charge for lost or damaged devices.
