City of Tulsa utilities workers have replaced a water valve at 46th and Peoria, but continue to work on another issue at that site.

The outside northbound lane of Peoria is still closed Wednesday morning. Workers were literally up to their shoulders in a hole as they worked to replace the valve.

Water service has been restored to the businesses and most of the residences that were affected. The City said they were able to replace the valve fairly quickly, as opposed to a leak. They had to replace a 6-inch valve that connected to a 12-inch line. The valve broke sometime Tuesday.

Cars can now get through on 46th Street. Access was closed temporarily.

Workers are now having to replace part of another line, and three houses are still without water.
