The search for an 8-year-old girl, taken after a machete attack in El Reno expands into Texas. The two victims remain hospitalized and the child's father is criminally charged.
At 2p.m. Friday, doctors performed reconstructive surgery on Juan Rangel who is still in critical but stable condition. The other man, Luciano Salazar, is listed as fair, but stable.
Newly filed court documents detail the attack on Luciano Salazar and Juan Rangel.
El Reno police found Salazar "bleeding from multiple wounds on his face, neck, and hands". And Rangel was "lying on his back with cuts on his face, neck, and both hands severed at the wrist".
In court documents, Salazar told a detective that Rangel was attacked first with a knife "approximately 2 1/2 feet" long.
Salazar also said "[De Jesus] was the one who hurt him" but didn't know why he was attacked.
Police say Salazar and Rangel lived with their alleged attacker, Arcenio De Jesus , as well as Miria Lopez, and Mabel Lopez.
For more than 24 hours, law enforcement in Oklahoma and Texas has searched for Mabel Lopez. El Reno police confirmed the SUV Mabel could be in entered Texas Thursday morning through Gainesville according to GPS.
Authorities still believe De Jesus and his family are headed to Mexico and that both Mabel and her mother are in danger.
The Canadian County District Attorney's Office charged De Jesus with two counts of assault and battery with deadly weapon.
