Tulsa police say a man is critical, on a ventilator and not expected to survive after a shooting Sunday morning. He was brought to a QuikTrip at West 51st and South Union around 6:30 a.m.

Firefighters and medical personnel worked to save the 23-year-old victim, who has at least one gunshot wound to the head, according to Corporal Dan Miller with the Tulsa Police. He was taken to a local hospital.

Miller said the shooting took place at a different location, around 5100 South Indian Road.

Homicide detectives were called in due to the nature of the man's injuries. They said further investigation revealed that the victim was in the back seat of a car driven by a friend. They were able to release more details late Sunday afternoon.

"The friend’s girlfriend was in the front passenger seat. The vehicle came to a stop at the stop sign at Indian and W. Skelly Dr.," Sgt. Dave Walker said. "The suspect exited what can only be described as a white car and fired one shot into the back window hitting the victim in the head."

A man and woman in their 20s were with the victim, and brought him to QuikTrip where they flagged down an officer on scene. The officer called in the shooting,  Miller said.

Police are looking for a white man in his 30s. from 5-foot-9 to 6-foot and 160-80 pounds. He was wearing all green and driving a white car, police say.
