An Oklahoma City woman was arrested in connection to the stabbing death of another woman in southwest Oklahoma City, Wednesday night.

According to police, at about 9:40 p.m. officers responded to the report of a stabbing in the 5700 block of S. Agnew. The victim, 50-year-old Malinda Brown, was found to be critically injured.

Investigators said they were able to determine that the victim and the suspect, 49-year-old Zelder Yvonne Williams, had an altercation, which led to Brown being stabbed.

Brown was transported to an area hospital where she died Thursday morning as a result of her injuries.

Williams was arrested Wednesday night and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of assault with a deadly weapon.  Investigators will be amending the booking complaint to reflect a charge of first-degree murder. A bond has not been set.

Brown's death is Oklahoma City's 21st homicide of 2016, according to police.
