Glass installers and body shops are filling up with cars damaged by Friday's hailstorm that hit parts of Coweta and Broken Arrow.

It usually takes golf ball sized hail stones to smash windows, and that's what happened at the Wagoner County Emergency Management Office.

Hail, from pea to softball size, pelted cars and trucks Friday night in Coweta and took out a fleet of rescue vehicles at Wagoner County Emergency Management.

Larry Barbee with Oklahoma’s Best Auto Glass, and other glass repair companies, are busy replacing windshields.

"Pretty much Friday night into Saturday it's been go, go, go," Barbee said.

He said his schedule is full of hail damage repair requests.

"We've got seven today, 15 tomorrow, and a lot of those are Coweta folks. Hail comes and people have to drive, so they've got to get their cars fixed. So we've been very, very, busy and very, very, blessed," Barbee said.

Tim Olson with Dent Terminator started getting calls on Saturday about cars needing repair. He specializes in getting the hail dents out.

"We know one hail dent…causes a dent right then. And in order for us to take it back out, we have to reverse that process one push at a time," Olson said.

Olson said it typically takes three days for the paintless dent repair.

"If it hits near an edge, some of the stuff that broke the glass is pretty severe, we might not be able to straighten. That's a pretty bad deal,” he said.

Windshields run around $200 to replace, and dent repair can run from $500 to $10,000 – it all depends on the damage.
