Thomas Hatch on going to the World Series:
“Growing up, we’ve watched the College World Series over and over. And I’ve personally never been, so it’s nice to go as a player, finally. You know, it’s always a story that it’s a big park, but as a pitcher, you know, we just came from a couple hitters parks and we did really well. So, I think the more we can continue to put that, you know, out of our head, it’s more of a distraction than anything. I think if we just execute our pitches, then we’ll be fine.”
Head Coach Josh Holliday on preparing his team:
“We’ve tried to approach every week of the season with the goal of winning the week. And I think it’s important to have something consistent so you can mentally relate to what you’re trying to do… Our goal now is to change that. New challenge, which is to go out this week and get back on that mindset, get back in the routine of practicing and preparing, and not allowing our minds to race. I think it’s important to keep your mind in the proper place, and that allows your thoughts to be controlled and then from there I think it allows you to find that sense of normalcy at a time when nothing's normal. And so that’s a good thing for us because I think we’ve learned how to do that, and so we’re gonna just enjoy the time together and get back into a practice routine.”
