One of the brothers charged with murdering five members of his Broken Arrow family attempted suicide last month.
The Tulsa County jail confirmed Robert Bever tried to hang himself with a sheet a couple of weeks ago.
Robert Bever is the older of the two brothers charged in the murders; he was 18 at the time.
The jail said he tried to hang himself on June 17th. A detention officer found him around 12:15 p.m. during a routine check of his cell in the medical unit. The medical staff cut him down.
He was not injured badly enough to be taken to the hospital, but Bever was placed on suicide watch, which means jailers check on him every 15 minutes.
Prosecutors say Robert and his younger brother, Michael, stabbed their mother, father and three siblings to death inside their Broken Arrow home in July of last year. Their 13-year-old sister survived her stab wounds and their 2-year-old sister wasn't hurt.
Police say the boys told them later, they didn't have time to kill her because their brother called 911 before he died and police arrived.
Police say the brothers told them they planned to cut up the bodies of their family members and put them in storage containers, then, make a video to post online before they went to pick up the guns and ammunition they had ordered online, and go on a killing spree across several states.

Even though police say both boys confessed the night of the murders, both have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
News On 6 reached out to Robert Bever's attorney to ask more about his suicide attempt but didn't hear back.
Bever’s next court date is scheduled for October.
