Bristow Police said the body of a teenager was found Monday night. No names have been released, but police confirm the teenage male was stabbed to death.
Police responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of East 8th Street around 10 p.m. Monday. Detective Kevin Webster said they believe the body was transported from that address and left in the country southeast of town.
The detective said they found the victim's body around 7:30 Tuesday morning underneath a bridge four miles east of Bristow, in Creek County.
They believe the murder happened inside a vehicle in the 200 block of 8th Street.
Webster said the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation is assisting and was instrumental in developing leads that led police to find the body.
"The investigation is going well," Webster said." Our partners at the OSBI, and the dedication of our officers has made it a good investigation. It's always tragic to lose a young person like this, especially to the circumstances like this."
Law enforcement identified a person of interest and took a 21-year-old man into custody in the stabbing death. That person is in the Bristow Jail. He's not been arrested, but believe that could happen soon.
Police said the cause of the fight is still under investigation, but, said the men worked together at Pizza Hut. The owner of the store said counselors are available for employees.
No names have been released at this time.
