Driver Arrested For DUI After Hitting Pedestrian On I-44 In Tulsa

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrested the driver of an SUV on a DUI complaint after they say he struck and killed a man walking on Interstate 44 in Tulsa early Saturday.

Troopers identified the driver as 27-year-old Michael Francisco of Tulsa.  

The OHP says the accident happened just before 5 a.m. near Yale Avenue. A trooper at the scene said the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but an arrest report said he died of his injuries.

Troopers said the victim has not been identified.

Francisco was booked into the Tulsa County jail and jail records show he has a court appearance set for August 26
