Vinita Teen Charged In Death Of Stepmother

A 14-year-old Vinita boy accused of killing his stepmother is now charged as an adult with first-degree murder.

Court records show Koalten Orr admitted to police he shot Laura Hendrix, telling them she sexually abused him and he was tired of it.

Officers found Hendrix dead in a hallway after her stepson went to the Vinita Police Department and confessed to killing her.

OSBI special agent, Chris Leamon said it appears the 38-year-old died from one gunshot wound. He said Hendrix and her 14-year-old stepson were the only two people inside the house when the shooting happened.

Orr is in jail on a $250,000 bond.
