Firefighters battled flames at a historic Sand Springs building Thursday evening.
Around 6:00 p.m., firefighters responded to the building near 4th and Cleveland. When they arrived, they said they saw flames pouring out from the second floor windows and the roof.
The building owner said the ground floor was mostly used for storage and no one should have been inside.
Firefighters said the fire was too much to stop when they arrived, so they went into a defensive mode - trying to protect the building and make sure the fire didn't spread.
Crews will likely remain at the site most of the night to stop any hot spots.
Firefighters say no one was injured.
An investigation is underway to determine what started the fire.
