Ex-Convict Charged With Murder In Girlfriend's Death In Tulsa

Prosecutors charged an ex-convict with murder in the death of a woman last week.

Darryll Reed faces one count of 1st-degree murder. 

Police said Reed called his father on the morning of September 30, 2016 saying he had killed his girlfriend and was going to kill himself.

Police went to the apartment in the 1000 block of East 61st Street but Reed refused to let them inside, they said. Eventually they found a 41-year-old woman inside with a head injury. 

The woman died early Saturday.

Reed had been released from prison in January after serving time for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
