The Creek County Sheriff's Office says a 6-year-old boy was the victim of a murder-suicide.
Deputies said Jennifer Dickerson, 32, killed her son, Jakob, before turning the gun on herself.
The 6 year old was a first grader at Keystone Schools, and the district said he was an exceptional student.
The superintendent said Jakob was a quiet, good student who never got in trouble.
He was a happy boy who did well in school.
Wednesday, Creek County deputies said Jakob's mother shot and killed him before killing herself.
Deputies said someone called them just after 3:00 Tuesday afternoon, worried about the mother and son because she had not taken him to school and no one was able to get in touch with her.

When deputies got to Dickerson's home, they found her lying in bed with Jakob - both dead.
Those who knew her said she was a doting mother who loved her son. They said there weren't any signs she might commit suicide.
A family member said Dickerson left a note but didn't know what it said.
The superintendent said it was a tough day on campus. Teachers talked with students and told them Jakob died.
Counselors will be available should any child need to talk.
The superintendent said the district will be keeping the Dickerson family in their thoughts and prayers.
The sheriff's office requested assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
