This weekend's Williams Route 66 Marathon in Tulsa is one of the biggest in the country and it all kicked off Saturday morning.
The annual event in downtown area got started just after 8 a.m. when around 2,000 runners participated in a 5K run outside News On 6's studios.
Organizers say there are at least 12,000 people registered to take part in several races on Saturday and Sunday.
A majority of the runners are from out of town with almost all 50 states and 10 foreign countries represented.
The big race is the Williams Route 66 Marathon on Sunday morning. It will wind its way for 26.2 miles around midtown Tulsa.
Because of all the events, organizers say a number of streets are closed Saturday and Sunday.
