Firefighters Contain 15-Acre Brush Fire In Sand Springs

The Sand Springs Fire Department continued to put out hot spots of a 15-acre brush fire that started early Wednesday just south of the Arkansas River in Sand Springs.

Firefighters were called to the fire at about 1:16 a.m. The fire burned along Avery Drive and the river and just east of Highway 97.

SSFD said an abandoned car that was on fire spread into the woods. 

Fire officials said no structures were damaged.
