Tulsa police say a woman was hospitalized after being shot twice in the chest while delivering newspapers Saturday morning in north Tulsa.

TPD responded to a shooting call a little before 4:30 a.m. to 700 East 43rd Street North and when they arrived, they found the woman sitting in her vehicle and she’d been shot twice.

Police said the woman was alert and told them she was delivering newspapers and was driving westbound from 1500 East 51st Street North when she was hit by several rounds of gunfire.

The only description the victim could give police were that there were three men were standing in the road.

Police canvassed the area the victim had described and located multiple shell casings on Rockford Ave. between East 51st Place North and East 51st Street North.

Detectives processed both scenes and approximately nine bullet holes were found on the victim’s vehicle. They also found 59 shell casings at the scene.

The victim was taken to a Tulsa hospital and her condition is said to be stable.

Police said no suspects have been located yet but they’re continuing to investigate.
