Pedestrian Dies After Weekend Hit-And-Run At University Of Tulsa

Tulsa Police say the pedestrian involved in a hit-and-run collision on Saturday has died.

Police identify the victim as Samuel Barnes, 38. They say he was pronounced dead at St. John Medical Center around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017.

Witnesses told police a dark-colored SUV ran over Barnes at 6th and Delaware on the University of Tulsa campus. 

Officers identified the suspect Montez Davis, 23, of Broken Arrow, and arrested him at his home. They say he was Barnes' nephew.

Officer booked Davis into jail on a felony charge of hit-and-run. He was released late Saturday night after posting bond.
