An NFL player and Tulsa native was charged today with domestic assault.
An arrest warrant was issued for Michael Bowie, 25, on charges of domestic assault and battery, and malicious injury or destruction of property, Tulsa County District Court documents show.
Prosecutors said the incident happened July 31.
Bowie went to his girlfriend's place and got mad at her because he didn't like the way she'd talked to his mother, prosecutors allege.
Bowie grabbed her by the throat, threw her to the ground, punched a hole in the wall and broke two televisions, prosecutors allege.
Bixby Police Department worked the case.
Bowie plays offensive tackle for the New York Giants.
Bowie will be held in lieu of $17,000 bond upon his arrest.
