Residents at the complex near 61st and Riverside received a flyer on Thursday, letting them know about the community gathering at 5 p.m.
Apartment managers say it's all about being there for each other at a time when everyone's wondering how they can help.
They put together care packages and the complex is accepting all kinds of donations, like toiletries, clothes or cash. Tenants can bring those to the gathering.
Managers say they're also inviting first responders as a way of saying thank you.
The Tristesse Grief Center will bring out their counselors at 3:30 p.m. and their crisis response team will also host a group session on grief at that time.
At least eight apartment units were evacuated as firefighters fought the flames for more than two hours.
Four units suffered damage and four others received smoke damage in the blaze.
