Slight Chance For Scattered Showers Saturday Morning

A brief chance at morning showers will be giving way to great Saturday afternoon weather to kick off the long Labor Day weekend!

Scattered showers will shift across eastern Oklahoma through the mid-morning hours, with rain most likely in areas just west and south of Tulsa. Most activity will be light, but it may be enough to require the umbrella for a few hours this morning.

That light shower activity looks to quickly diminish by the late morning hours, leaving us with drier and warm conditions for the afternoon hours. After mostly cloudy morning skies, we should return to partly sunny afternoon skies and terrific outdoor conditions with highs climbing into the mid to upper 80s!

The heat will be cranking up a few notches for the latter part of our holiday weekend. We’ll get another mild start to our Sunday with lows in the upper 60s, and with plenty of sunshine we’ll see highs push into the low 90s Sunday afternoon. It should make for great weather to take a dip in the lake or the pool!

Labor Day Monday is looking like a toasty one as well, as the “unofficial end to summer” will certainly have a summer feel to it! An increasing south breeze on Monday looks to push our highs into the low to mid 90s, with heat index values a bit above that. We’ll once again have plenty of sunshine and smooth sailing for the Great Raft Race down the Arkansas River!

Our next big weather pattern change arrives on Tuesday in the form of a strong cold front! This front looks to arrive sometime Tuesday morning with a chance for scattered showers and storms, though rainfall does not appear it will be very widespread.

That front will keep our temperatures primarily in the 70s throughout Tuesday, and as much drier air rushes in behind the front, we will get a good taste of fall as the coolest air we’ve felt since May arrives! Get ready for lows dipping down into the lower 50s by Wednesday morning and Thursday morning! Nice!
