The manhunt continues in Green Country Wednesday after an inmate escaped while being transported Tuesday afternoon.

We're learning more about where deputies think Skipper Rowland may be.

The Muskogee County Sheriff's Office believes Rowland may be in the Warner or Keefton areas.

They are asking residents to lock their doors and be aware of their surroundings because Rowland has a violent past.

Warner resident Kelly Taylor almost didn't go for a run today after learning that Rowland may be in the area.

"I almost stayed home, locked the doors. But I got out and about and I thought, everybody's kids are out in the road and everybody's going about their daily life," Taylor said.

New video from inside the Muskogee County Jail shows Rowland being transferred from the jail to a McLain County deputy.

Just a short time later authorities say he was able to get out of his restraints and escape, later stealing a truck.

Late Tuesday night the sheriff's office said they came across witnesses who said they saw Rowland in a Red Ford Ranger pickup — different from the truck law enforcement believes he originally stole.

They watched the truck while law enforcement tired to figure out if Rowland was inside or whether he was going to come back.

"The vehicle took off with his lights out approximately 2 miles down on the county road. When we caught up to the vehicle, the vehicle was abandoned again," said Sheriff Rob Frazier.

The sheriff's office believes Rowland took off running into the woods.

Deputies did find items such as sleeping bags, binoculars and even flashlights inside the vehicle.

The sheriff's office believes he was ready to battle the elements.

"He's got a lot of family and friends out and around the Warner and Keefton area, so we want people to be vigilant," Frazier said. "We're confident we're gonna get him, it's just a matter of time. He can't run forever."

Frazier said Rowland has tried to escape from their jail before.

They've now enlisted the help of the U.S. Marshals Service to track him down.
