The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says two people were flown to a Tulsa hospital after suffering injuries in an SUV crash northwest of Checotah Wednesday evening.
Troopers say a 2001 Chevy Tahoe driven by Jordan Cauley, 21, of Checotah was southbound on a county road when they say he lost control, causing it to roll. They state Cauley was thrown from the SUV.
The OHP says he is in critical condition with injuries to head, chest and legs.
Troopers say there were three passengers in the SUV when it crashed at 7:31 p.m. Two of them, Shelby Webster, 20, of Checotah and Ronnie Clayton, 21, of Checotah refused treatment, but a third passenger, Sydney Cooper, 19, of Eufaula was also flown to Tulsa. The report says she also suffered head injuries in the crash.
The OHP report says the driver was traveling at an unsafe speed at the time and no one in the SUV were wearing their seat belts.
An investigation into the crash continues.
