Sapulpa Crews Fight Abandoned Church Fire

Sapulpa fire crews are on the scene of a fire at an abandoned church.

Crews responded to the abandoned church on South Hickory Road Wednesday around 7 p.m.

Firefighters said the roof collapsed due to the fire. 

They said they are trying to get in touch with the property owner, but plan to just let it burn since there is no chance of it spreading and causing danger to other structures. 

Firefighters said the ground around the building was very muddy and that they weren't bringing any trucks near the church.
