Tulsans got the chance to sit down with the city's police chief Thursday for Tulsa Police Department's "Coffee With A Cop" program.

The event gave people the opportunity to sit down and get to know the officers who patrol the streets in the area.

There's no agenda, it's just one-on-one conversations with the officers.

Police Chief Chuck Jordan, along with several other TPD officers, stopped and sat down for coffee with several people who showed up to meet them.

Tulsa Police said an event like this is a good place to talk with officers about any community concerns, or, just to say hello.

For Elaine Wilkinson, it was about thanking the officers who keep her neighborhood safe.

"I'm a big supporter of the police, big 'Back the Blue,' so, I don't know, just felt like, I don't know, ought to have somebody come out here that was in support of what all the police do," she said.

TPD is planning another event just like this one and officers hope to hold it in the evening.

Once they have a time and date set, they'll post it on the department's Facebook page. They also say you can post any questions you want answered there.
