OHP is investigating a wreck on the Indian Nation Turnpike that left one woman dead.

Troopers said the crash involved a car and a semi in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike at mile marker 38 in Atoka County around noon Saturday.

OHP said the car, driven by a woman who has yet to be identified, lost control and crossed from the southbound to northbound lanes and was hit by the northbound semi.

Reports said the crash caused both vehicles to catch fire.

The woman in the car was pinned for about 2 hours before she was removed, OHP said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi, 32-year-old Kyle Nix of Missouri, was taken to the hospital, treated, and released.

A passenger in the semi, 44-year-old Rose Nix of Missouri, was not injured.

Troopers closed the northbound lanes for over 7 hours as they worked the scene.
