Flooding A Concern For Much Of Oklahoma

Flooding is a concern for much of Oklahoma. The rain has caused flash flooding and wrecks all around Green Country.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Creek, Muskogee, Okmulgee, Tulsa and Wagoner counties until 7:45 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018. A flood warning has also been issued for Le Flore County until 6:45 p.m. Friday.

Adair, Cherokee, Creek, Delaware, Haskell, Le Flore, Mayes, McIntosh, Muskogee, Okmulgee, Rogers, Sequoyah, Tulsa and Wagoner counties are under a Flash Flood Watch until 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 23.

Police were forced to shut down the street near 51st and Yale due to high water, but they were able to get it back open around 4:30 p.m.

In Broken Arrow, police had to shut down the New Orleans (101st) and Garnett intersection due to flooding. There is no word on when that intersection will reopen.

The rain is causing more changes for some Friday night football games. Since travel is being discouraged in Ada due to flash flooding, the Coweta-Ada football game will be played on Saturday.

Kickoff at Tiger Field in Coweta will be at 2:00 p.m.

The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Emergency for parts of Pontotoc County. Emergency Management directors warn drivers to stay at home for the night.

They said there were at least four water rescues in the Ada area, and all county roads south of Ada are impassable right now.

Emergency responders pulled someone out of floodwaters in Comanche County and in Davis, high water is shutting down highways and drivers are urged to stay home.

Also, Turner Falls Park in Murray County is closed until further notice due to rushing water.
