Firefighters say no one was inside a Tulsa home which suffered extensive damage early Tuesday.

The fire department got the call before 3 a.m. to the home located in the 2100 block of West 39th Street, which is just off Southwest Boulevard.

Firefighters had to deal with a lot of flames and smoke. They say it appears the fire started on the back porch before spreading inside the home.

Neighbors told News On 6, flames were pretty high and they feared the fire would spread to nearby trees.

Firefighters say they are trying to figure out if anyone does live in the home.

"It looks like someone has lived here, but it doesn't look like they've lived here in 30 or 40 days," said District Chief Chuck French with the Tulsa Fire Department.

They say the gas was turned on, but the home did not have electricity service.

A neighbor told News On 6, they last saw someone at the home a few days ago.
