Broken Arrow Public Schools say they have identified the student who wrote a school threat message on a bathroom mirror. The message references a shooting at the high school on Friday, but police say the threat is not credible.
A source tells News On 6 the student has been taken into custody for threatening a violent act.
Broken Arrow Public Schools issued the following statement Thursday:
Broken Arrow Public Schools is aware of a message written on a bathroom mirror referring to a threat to Broken Arrow High School for tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 14.
District administrators are actively investigating with the Broken Arrow Police Department and the student(s) responsible have been identified and contacted.Based on the results of the investigation, it has been determined the threat is not credible.
Out of an abundance of caution, we will continue to follow the direction of BAPS Campus Security in conjunction with the Broken Arrow Police Department.
The safety of our students is our highest priority, and all possible threats are fully investigated by district administrators and the proper authorities.
