Downtown Tulsa is getting a new corporate headquarters, bringing with it close to 100 employees, shops, restaurants and parking.
The building will soon be the corporate headquarters for VAST bank, a rebranding of Tulsa's Valley National Bank and it is changing the skyline of Downtown Tulsa.
"We hope that Tulsa embraces the very bold and tech-friendly things we are going to be rolling out and we hope they embrace the name," said CEO Brad Scrivner.
It’s all about staying relevant in these digital times and about showing Tulsa that the company has no plans to go anywhere else.
"And we intend for this to be a pillar in the community and a physical representation of our intent not to sell,” said Scrivner. "That’s is a challenge in a world where banks are selling and a lot of turnover and we have no intention of doing that.”
The 100,000 square feet will include open serving areas for coffee and beer on street level, a rooftop “In the Raw” sushi bar, rotating art installments and office space.
"A lot of the design of the building was based on millennials and recruiting and our other tenants wanted a building that attracted talent to Tulsa," said Doug Dejarnette.
Included in the project is an 11-million public parking garage with 399 spaces going right across the street making a total $43-million investment for the project.
"We wanted to have the orientation to the ballpark since it is a real feature to Tulsa and we wanted to play on the traffic of Elgin and Archer as well and really just draw the Arts Districts and Blue Dome Districts together,” said Dejarnette
The building is expected to be finished by December of 2019.
