Tulsa Police were out in the community Thursday night to discuss mental health issues. Officers say they get a lot of calls of people experiencing a crisis and want to direct people to where they can find resources.
"When somebody has a mental health crisis, everyone wants to know 'How can I help this person out?' And it's very disheartening, and it's a very hopeless feeling when you don't know," said Officer Demita Kinard, Tulsa Police.
TPD says if they can't help, they'll help people find what they need so they don't have to call 911.
They say they hope to have more meetings in the future to help provide information and resources.
