Tulsa Police Investigate After Body Found In Arkansas River

Tulsa Police are investigating after a man's body was found in the Arkansas River Thursday near 21st and Riverside. 

Officers said a fisherman called police after discovering the body in the river Thursday morning. When officers arrived, they said they found a dead man in the river with no clothes on. 

The Medical Examiner's office will work to identify the man and determine a cause of death. 

Tulsa Police Officer Andre Baul said it is not clear exactly what led up to the man's death. 

"He possibly could have been a transient. We just don't know at this time. But it looks like he may have waded off into the water, and gotten a little bit too far out, maybe the water was up. Didn't look to be there too long,” Baul said.
