Tulsa Premium Outlets Confirm Retailers, Share Progress

The long-delayed but now under-construction Tulsa Premium Outlets expects to open next August, and the developers say it'll have some stores that haven't been in Oklahoma before.

The developer of the Tulsa Premium Outlets confirms some of the major retailers will be Polo Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch, Nike, Columbia and Vera Bradley.

Simon Properties, the owner of Woodland Hills in Tulsa, restarted work on the project in January after a years-long delay blamed on the pandemic and related delays.

Tulsa Premium Outlets is an open-air, 340,000-square-foot shopping area with shaded seating along concourses in an oval layout of more than 75 stores.

“You get a comfortable shopping experience, because of all the amenities, but you're also going to get great prices and great brands that may not exist elsewhere in the market,” said Steve Shea, a Vice President with Simon.

Renderings show a central plaza with a fountain and fire pit in a design that faces north and the Creek Turnpike.

“We're not at all shy about putting down another 340,000 square feet of retail in this market,” said Shea, who added the company has confidence in the demand for a premium, in-person shopping experience.

The construction is proceeding west to east, and though parts appear taller, it's all on one level.

The draw, according to Shea, is both the unique and premium brands they'll offer here.

"We'll have some local flavor, and some tenants sprinkled in that are native to Tulsa, and other national brands that you'll see elsewhere in our products around the country," he said.

Eight months from opening, Simon Properties says leasing is ahead of expectations, and when it opens next August, about 800 people will have jobs here.

Simon believes this will be a major shopping destination for all of Northeast Oklahoma.
