OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Drivers on the Turner Turnpike from Tulsa to Oklahoma City will soon have to find a new place for gasoline. Turnpike spokesman Jack Damrill says fuel service at the Wellston service plaza and the Bristow service plaza will be shut down later this month.
Damrill says a private fuel company that has the contracts with the state to sell gas along the turnpike has decided not to renew its lease.
He says the fuel plazas haven't performed well in recent years and the company decided it wasn't making enough profit to keep the plazas open.
A fast food restaurant at both plazas will remain open for food and restrooms for the public.
